Wild Rift beta is up once again! And I’m sure a lot of mobile gamers are curious about its gameplay. With this in mind, I decided to write this guide about Wild Rift lane roles and champion picks. This guide also has tips to help you with Wild Rift’s gameplay.

The Baron Lane in Wild Rift’s map is marked in purple when you enter the game. You also get to notice a symbol of Baron Nashor to easily identify the lane. It is also called the Top Solo Lane. It is recommended for tough champions who can handle 1v1 or 1v2.

The main task of the champion in Baron Lane is to move for a split push, but still be around when a team fight breaks in. Another thing that you should take note of when going for Baron Lane is that it is prone to gank by the enemy Jungler. This is why micro skills are important for players who choose to take the Baron Lane. When it comes to champion selection, Tanks or Fighters are recommended for Baron Lane.

The Solo Mid Lane are for champions who can dominate their lane and provide aid to their teammates in the side lanes. This lane is recommended for Mages (or sometimes, Assassins) with high wave-clearing skills.

Aside from micro skills, the Solo Mid Lane player should also macro-manage the game. This is because the mid-lane is very susceptible to ganks from the Jungle Lane champion and Top/Baron Lane champion. So the player should have a keen eye and be observant of the surroundings/minimap.

Players who choose the Mid Lane should also choose champions that can do a lot of damage. During team fights, avoid getting killed and focus on damaging enemies as much as possible.

Upon entering the Wild Rift’s map, you can see The Duo Dragon Lane from the base, featuring a light blue pathline with the dragon symbol. The Carry fills this lane alongside the Support.

Like in any MOBA games, the Carry has the main task of pushing the team to victory. When it comes to champion selection, the Carry is usually designated to Marksman champions. The player with the Carry Role should also focus on pushing the lane early on in the game to have the upperhand.

The Support, on the other hand, should be able to sustain the Carry throughout the early game. You can choose champions with healing skills or great crowd control abilities, which is quite handy in teamfights, surprised ganks, and during late game.

Another important role that the Support does in the game is playing as the team’s intel. You can do this by optimizing the use of the Ward system. These Wards allow you and your team to know the location of the enemies in the minimap. With this mind, make sure to place those Wards in strategic spots to avoid being ganked in your lane.

The champion who takes the Jungle lane has two crucial roles: (1) securing objectives in the river and jungle, and (2) helping other champions to dominate their lanes.

Unlike other champion laners who gain exp from killing minions, Jungle lane champions get their exp from killing Jungle monsters from the start of the game. Usually, the champion starts off with killing side monsters such as Gromp, the Wolves, the Raptors, and the Krugs. After killing one of the side monsters, the champion can then proceed getting the Blue Buff (restores mana) from the Blue Sentinel, then move to Red Brambleback to get the Red Buff (adds true damage). There are also the Rift Scuttlers that provide vision buffs in the river.

Aside from these monsters, the Jungle lane champion should aid or start engaging with river monsters including the Elemental Drakes, the Rift Herald, and Baron Nashor. To aid in killing these monsters (and later on damage heroes), the Jungle lane champion should equip himself with a special spell known as Smite.

And while having the task to get the buffs from the Jungle and River monsters, the Jungle lane champion should also help his teammates to push their lanes with effective ganks. To be able to do all of these, it is recommended for players to choose a champion based on the level of HP sustainability and ganking capability. The perfect champions for the Jungle lane are those with life steal/HP regen or  disruptive crowd control skills.
