Marvel’s Avengers Adds Kate Bishop

Marvel’s Avengers confirms the arrival of Kate Bishop on December 8. Following her release is Clint Barton’s character, Hawkeye, which will arrive in early 2021 along with the next-gen versions of the game.

Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop will come to Marvel’s Avengers as part of a new campaign Operation, Taking A.I.M. All of the new content in the campaign will be for free. According to the campaign’s description, Kate is searching for her former mentor, Hawkeye. But along the way, she discovers a conspiracy that involves Nick Fury, time travel, and the threat of a new enemy.

Crystal Dynamics shows Kate Bishop’s gameplay, where she uses both ranged bow attacks and melee finishers with a sword. She can also teleport to short distances using a Quantum tech stolen from A.I.M. Similar to Hawkeye, Kate will come with multiple arrow types including Explosive, Razor, Scatter, and Smokescreen. Kate can also create a distracting Decoy hologram and use a Warp Arrow to teleport. Her ultimate skill, on the other hand, allows her to fire Quantum empowered arrows.

Taking A.I.M.

In the new campaign, we also get to see a Super Adaptoid boss which combines visual elements of Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, and combines all of their Avenger powers.

Taking A.I.M. will be the first new chapter of the Avengers Initiative campaign Season 1. In this campaign, Kate Bishop embarks on a rescue mission for her mentor, “Hawkeye” by using a bridge through time to rescue him. All the while, he must also face the antagonist Monica Rappaccini off from her future self.

The new campaign will add new heroes, villains, missions, biomes, and more. They will be structured in arcs like the Marvel comics they are inspired by. It will also offer exclusive rewards.

Hawkeye Release

Crystal Dynamics also shows a brief teaser which features Clint Barton as a playable character in early 2021. As part of Operation Future Imperfect, it will take place in a future where all hope seems lost including a villainous Old Hulk. The gameplay also reveals that it will be coming in the very near future.

The teaser video also confirmed that the next-gen versions of the game will arrive in early 2021. More improvements are promised, including cross-platform play.
