Guerilla Games has confirmed the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn after months of rumors.
The Head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios Hermen Hulst announced the news. According to Hulst, Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer. He also said the Guerilla will be the one to release the details pretty soon.
The news about the Horizon Zero Dawn’s PC port in January. It would be the first exclusive game from a Sony first party developer. Previous reports have already said that the game would hit both Steam and Epic Games Store, but its release date remains unclear.
Due to this report, Hulst was asked if other PlayStation exclusive games will be released to PC and other third-party game services. However, Hulst tempered any idea that this meant day-and-date PC releases of PlayStation exclusives.
Hulst said it’s important that they stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show them what they’ve been missing out on.
According to Hulst, maybe releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t mean that every Sony game exclusive will come to PC. It just happens that Horizon Zero Dawn was a great fit in this particular instance. But currently, Sony doesn’t have plans for day and date PC releases, and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.
Sony has a marked difference in approach from Xbox, which has made its Play Anywhere scheme. Xbox Game Studios games are cross-buy and cross-save across PC and Xbox One, a cornerstone of its recent sales tactics.
Horizon Zero Dawn is an action RPG video game that follows the story of Aloy, a hunter who lives in a world overrun by machines. She sets out to uncover her past and find her true identity. The player can use ranged weapons and stealth to combat mechanical creatures and other enemies. The game also features a skill tree which provides the players with new abilities and bonuses. It also has an open world setting, allowing players to discover locations and take on side quests.
Horizon Zero Dawn Date was first released for PlayStation 4 on February 28, 2017.
