Halo Infinite Multiplayer is Free-to-Play

343 Industries confirms that Halo Infinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will support the 120 FPS on Xbox Series X. The announcement came via a tweet posted on Halo’s Official Twitter account.

The announcement came after a leak circulated online. A listing of Halo Infinite’s Multiplayer for Xbox Series X posted in Smyths Toys indicated that it is free-to-play and supports 120 FPS to greatly reduce load times.

During the Xbox Games Showcase, 343 Industries confirms that the game will be running at 60 FPS. But it seems that there have been changes following the release of the next-gen console, Xbox Series X.

Game Development

Halo Infinite will be more of a platform video game than a standalone entry as 343 Industries confirms. And now, it seems that the game is entirely free-to-play. It is also possible that this is what Halo series will look like for the foreseeable future.

The developers confirmation of Halo Infinite’s free-to-play was immediately followed with an open discussion on the community’s mixed response. Some of the things fans have pointed out are the game’s graphics, visual styles, microtransactions, and a possible multiplayer beta.

Halo Infinite will launch alongside the Xbox Series X in Holiday 2020. But the game will also be available on PC and Xbox One.
