Remedy Entertainment announces that players who will buy the new Control Ultimate Edition will get a free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
The Control Ultimate Edition was announced last August 12. It will launch on Steam this coming August 27. It will also launch on Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One on September 10, 2020. The Ultimate Edition with all previous upgrades and expansions.
The developers also confirmed that players who bought the console versions of the Ultimate Edition will get a free digital upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when they arrive. However, those who already own the game on the console will not.
Control Ultimate Edition
According to the product FAQ, the free upgrade port to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 of the game is only available for Control Ultimate Edition. The product FAQ also confirms that the next-gen versions of the game will digitally arrive before 2020 ends.
The Control Ultimate Edition will include the base game, The Foundation (Expansion 1), AWE (Expansion 2, The Expeditions end game mode, Photo Mode, and all the content updates since the release of the original game. It will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
The Control Ultimate Edition costs $39.99 on all platforms, including on Steam and Epic Games Store. Its Steam release will be on August 27. Then, its digital version on Epic Game Store, PS4, and Xbox One will be on September 10.
A physical edition will also be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before the end of 2020, alongside the game’s physical and digital release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
